HONORING A MAN OF HONOR -- DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR!

Posted:  15 January 2013

NEVER FORGET THE GREAT ONES!
THEY ARE SUCH WONDERFUL MODELS
FROM WHICH TO DRAW TREMENDOUS POWER AND STYLE
AND TO COPY AND BASE A GOOD LIFE UPON

Dr. King said and did a lot of things worth knowing about and remembering.

He stood up for people who badly needed standing up for -- and it had everything and nothing to do with the coat of colors one is born into.

He renewed, with grand style, the demonstration that one good man (or woman) can change the whole world for the better -- though this can even be at the cost of their life or other things they value -- but are not stopped or diverted by the prospect.

Very lucky us!

And now, his very name can be used to define the words "courage and honor."

HERE ARE A FEW LINKS THAT ILLUMINATE A LIFE THAT ADORNED, FOR ALL TIME, AN ENTIRE AGE OF HUMAN HISTORY!

Video of Dr. King's breath-taking, world-elevating Speech, "I Have A Dream," (Youtube)
  • ... delivered, fittingly, at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington, DC, on August 28, 1963 --  with around a quarter-million awe-stricken people present -- and billions of second and third-hand equally impressed witnesses, all over the world.
  • Many, if not all of us, I think, eventually realized that we were being privileged to witness the actual unfolding of one of the golden pages in all of human history --  there, before our grateful eyes and ears and inspired hearts.
  • This speech was delivered 2 months and 26 days before President Kennedy's murder and 4 years, 7 months and 7 days before his own; words which were first uttered, 49 years, 4 months, and 18 days ago --

a day that truly changed our world and times for the much better
