TWO SEPT CLASSES: DISASTER TRAINING / CERT

THERE WILL BE TWO 6-WEEK CLASSES STARTING THIS WEEK
ONE IN PITTSBURG, 9/17/12/MON
& THE SECOND IN BRENTWOOD 9/20/12/THU

Want to learn more about what CERT training is like and what CERT is all about?  Just go to the front bulletin board and search for CERT (in the search box)

BACKGROUND

The original message, on this blog (click here), indicated only one class (in Pittsburg), starting this week.  THAT MESSAGE STILL CONTAINS OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION.

The following NEW information, just received today, 9/16, offers far greater flexibility.  If you can't attend Monday's classes, perhaps you can make it on Thursdays.  You can also mix and match, to fit your schedules.  Just be sure to attend all six sessions, total, to certify.  Thus, you might not have to wait until next year to increase your disaster readiness, after all.

1.  Classes are free and involve one evening per week for six weeks.

City of Pittsburg: Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
Posted Date: 2/16/2012

When "what if" turns into "what now," East County can be ready.

Ask yourself...

*Are you ready for a disaster?
*Can your neighborhood be self-sufficient for at least three days after a disaster?
*Who will help the injured and rescue trapped victims in your neighborhood if rescuers are not available?

The Community Emergency Response Team -- CERT -- has been developed to train resident volunteers to provide neighborhood assistance until emergency agencies can respond.

Training classes begin in March.
