City Clerk of the Year 2011, Alice EvensonPittsburg City Clerk Alice Evenson was honored last week by the City Clerks Association of California and named the CITY CLERK OF THE YEAR.  We congratulate Ms. Evenson on this recognition!

The duties of the City Clerk are many and varied.  For example, Alice maintains the legal and historical records of the City, conducts municipal elections, and ensures the City's compliance with, for example, the Political Reform Act, open meetings laws, Public Records Act, and conflicts of interest codes.

As noted in Mayor Will Casey's Proclamation honoring Alice Evenson, she assists the Pittsburg High School's government classes with their mock elections, the Mayor's Make a Difference Day, and active in mentoring City Clerks throughout California.  Please click here to see the Mayor's Proclamation.

We congratulate Alice on this honor bestowed by her peers.  (Plus, we already knew that she was something special -- nice to know that other see her in that same light.)
