FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Car Show Returns to Old Town Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, CA – May 21, 2012: The Pittsburg Arts & Community Foundation along with the City of Pittsburg is pleased to announce the return of the Car Show to Old Town Pittsburg. Now in its eighth year, the Car Show begins on Thursday, May 24th and will continue weekly until September 6th from 6pm to 8pm. The location remains the same on Railroad Avenue from Third to Sixth Streets and as in past years, will be closed to thru traffic from 4pm to 8pm.

“This is an event people look forward to attending.” said Sue Siino, a Car Show organizer from the beginning, “The music is good; people of all ages and backgrounds come from all over the Bay Area and a safe environment has been created with a light presence of the police department and the fire department. We have this great mix of people where everybody gets along plus there are great places to enjoy dinner or a refreshing snack.”

The return of Car show in addition to the weekly Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings from 9 am to 1 pm kicks the summer event season into high gear.
Every Thursday has a different theme and features live music from different bands, including local favorites, Nicky D & the Extreme All Stars; Vocal Ease & the Boogiemen; and the PHDs.[THEY ARE ALL FANTASTIC ENTERTAINMENT -- ACTUALLY THE WHOLE THING IS! -- Editor] A complete listing of the Car Show schedule and other events happening in Old Town Pittsburg can be found online atwww.oldtowpittsburgca.com. “The Old Town Pittsburg merchants are thrilled that the summer event season has returned.” said Adrian Badger, representing the Old Town Pittsburg Business District Association and owner of Steeltown Coffee and Tea. “The Car Show and Farmers' Market attract many, many individuals and families to Old Town and offer exposure to many of the businesses here. We look forward to an exciting season with visitors from across the Bay Area discovering how charming, entertaining and safe Old Town Pittsburg has become.”
