This week, I visited the Wilshire Metro WorkSource Center in Los Angeles to discuss the
urgent need to avoid the “sequester” – automatic spending cuts set to take effect March 1 that could have a devastating impact on the U.S. economy and millions of families.
Nationwide,
if these cuts go into effect, 70,000 children would lose access to Head Start, 600,000 women and children would lose nutrition assistance, and more than 10,000 teachers and 1,000 FBI agents and other law enforcement personnel would lose their jobs.
