I am delighted to report that our friends at Maya Cinemas 16, Pittsburg, have received special mention in the February 2013 edition of the Film Journal International -- the global trade monthly for the theatrical exhibition industry -- in the article, entitled "Cinemas Reach Out to Under-served Communities," by Andreas Fuchs.
I am also deeply gratified by Mr. Fuchs' favorable references to this very "Pittsburg City-Journal (PCJ)" and to our efforts, on behalf of our community (and myself), to celebrate the recent emplacement of this very welcome entertainment complex within our midst.
He based portions of his fine article on excerpts from the series of PCJ articles (such as this example). To view, in full, the other original PCJ articles involved, please use the City-Journal's search box feature (key word: MAYA) or find links to them in the "Lists of Territorial Bulletins, 2012 and 2013" (posted at the top left corner of the PCJ bulletin board).
Below is Mr. Fuchs' cover letter (in section 1), which transmitted his article (in section 2). I invite your special attention to pages 31 & 32 of the embedded piece, at the paragraph beginning with the words "Speaking of calendars, we close our Diversity Class with a nod to (recent) history.
