1. The wonderfully relevant web page, entitled, "Community Guide and Business Directory -- Our Past... Our Future, " was brought to my attention by our Pittsburg neighbor, Dena Jordan (thanks, D).
2. It was produced and published under the auspices of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce. It starts in 1839 and discusses milestones to 2010.
3. While we're on the topic, more interesting historical information can be found on our City at this Wikipedia link, entitled, "Pittsburg, California."
Knowing where we've been has a lot to do with where we're heading.
4. I hope to do similar articles for neighboring towns within East County, in the near future -- and beyond, as soon as feasible.
5. I might add that more historical data is being accumulated to further flesh-out the above materials.
