It's official - we'll begin towing USS IOWA south a few days before Memorial Day and begin the transit to her new, permanent home at the Port of Los Angeles.

We're planning for a four-day transit and will anchor the battleship approximately six miles off the coast of Long Beach to perform final hull cleaning. In mid-June, we will relocate USS IOWA to Berth 87 at the Port of Los Angeles to prepare for the July 4th commissioning ceremony. The top 200 plank owners will ride the ship through the main channel. If you haven't contributed yet, now might be a good time to do so!

It's been an amazing process thus far with so many dedicatedcontributors and volunteers committed to realizing our dream of transforming USS IOWA into an interactive museum that honors and illustrates the positive contributions the ship and its crew made in American history! We would love to enlist more help to get involved and pass the word to folks to visitwww.pacificbattleship.com.

Sections of USS IOWA will continue to be open for weekend tours while in the Port of Richmond from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until April 28th and 29th. The Battleship Expo at the Port of Richmond includes a visit on board USS IOWA and access to exhibits that include a short film on the battleship, 16" shells, a Sheridan tank and half-track displayed by the Military Vehicle Foundation, the Blue Angels F-4 Phantom flight simulator from Pacific Coast Air Museum, and numerous other exhibits. The Battleship Expo entrance donation is $10 per adult and $5 per child 12 years or older. Children 11-years old and under are admitted for free.

Thank you so much for your continued support and interest!
