Neither sleet nor snow are likely to pose much trouble, really: it's California.
But even if weather takes a nasty turn, Pittsburg mail delivery will soldier on under the command of a new postmaster who will take charge of routes to 30,000 addresses Thursday when Cina Kreisel is sworn in, the U.S. Postal Service announced Tuesday.
The post includes command of 77 postal workers who deliver a daily average of more than 92,000 pieces of mail.
Kreisel is a 14-year veteran of the post office who started as a window clerk in Lafayette in 1998. Most recently, she was the Moraga postmaster.
"As the new Pittsburg Postmaster, it is an honor and privilege to be appointed to this important and civic position," Kreisel said. "I am passionate about striving for excellence and committed to the needs of Postal customers. In order for my customers to know that the Pittsburg Post Office is the best place to do business, I must make sure my employees have the best place to work."
